I need motivation

In this highly competitive and evolving society, it is very easy to lose motivation and get lost in the clutter. Dreams get dashed everyday. People lose jobs, husbands, wives, lovers, friends, and family members faster than you can snap a finger. In fact, this very feeling is expressed by the much noted philosopher Gabriel Marcel. According to him, losing hope in the face of this increasingly functionalized world is fairly normal nowadays. And that's a scary thought to ponder. Sadly though, most of us at times feel trapped by that feeling. We're too tired, too sad, too sleepy, too hungry, too busy, (insert some other lame excuse here) to actually get ourselves back on track. And when you start thinking about it, don't you feel that acute lack of motivation, that fear, hounding you?

If you, unluckily find yourself in that situation, then cheers, this post is right for you! I will be listing some of the things you can do to get yourself inspired to take on your own basic motivation programs and start (or restart) doing something with your lives.

1. Read books on motivation programs

"I need motivation."

Think about it. It's a line we utter every time we feel the slumps. Luckily there are tons of books on motivation which you can find in your nearest library, bookstores, or even online. If you're short on cash and don't feel the particular urge to travel to the library, then check out the different free Ebooks littered around the internet. There are tons of them I swear. However, if you do have some extra money, you could also purchase some of the more detailed books online.

2. Find a sport

It's a proven fact that sports and exercise can generally raise a person's well-being. It's a very refreshing experience which could clear your mind of stress and other added distractions to your job. Search online for a sport that interests you, and try it out if you don't already have a sport to begin with! Set realistic goals that you could reach, and beat them! This is very important because owning your short term goals, is a sure-fire method of beating the slumps, and motivating yourself to do better progressively.

3. Talk!

Conversing with friends and family members is an excellent way to get that added motivation to conquer the slumps. Not only do you get to destress yourself by spilling your guts out, you also receive that much-needed pat on the back, or shoulder to cry on. Don't be afraid to step out of your shell and reach out to these people. They genuinely will want to make you feel better (unless they're total asses, in that case let them be).

4. Get out of the blue

Another way of finding motivation is by learning and experiencing new things. I mean, instinctively you should know it to be true. The time spent discovering new skills and talents is a hundred percent more efficient than the time spent moping and being a coach potato (unless you could make money being a couch potato that is!). There are tons of new things to try out. Use the internet to find them! And for once, try not to be too uptight and just let loose.

5. Watch motivating videos

From time to time, some TV stations cover the stories of great and notable people in history. Do not miss out on them! Watching these videos is a great opportunity to learn about these people, to find out what exactly inspired or motivated them to do the great things they did. Hopefully, you will find out that they too experienced slumps just like yours. Watch out though for the exact things they did, or the exact experiences which motivated them in order to conquer the hell out of their slumps.

I'm sure there are tons of other ways to answer the perennial demand: I need motivation, but for now I leave you with these five motivating tips to think about today. Do not in any way be afraid to try them out (especially the tip on those free online e-books), I guarantee that they will aid you greatly in your search for motivation. :)
